Solving petroleum disputes through the arbitration system were not an easy matter, as appointing arbitrators and launching the arbitration process to reaches an effective arbitration decision faces several obstacles, some of which is due to the refusal of the party announcing the arbitration to appoints its arbitrator, and some due to the lack of agreement of the appointed arbitrators on the person of the third arbitrator, while some problems may arise after the completion of the formation of the arbitration panel, the most prominent of which are the problem of the extent of impartiality and independence of the two foreign arbitrators.
