This study aimed to investigate the effect of teaching earth and environmental sciences according to the cooperative learning strategy on the achievement of secondary school students in Jordan, using the experimental method, and designing a control group with a post-test.

The study sample consisted of Al-Taybeh Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, which is one of the schools affiliated to the Directorate of Education of the Qweismeh District, in the academic year 2017/2018.

The sample consisted of two divisions of the first grade of secondary school, and each division consisted of (30) female students, which were distributed into two independent groups: control and experimental.

To achieve the objectives of the study, an achievement test was developed to measure the results of the achievement of the two control and experimental groups for first-year secondary school students at the end of the first semester.

The researcher used to develop her research tool (the achievement test) in the light of her extensive study of theoretical literature and previous studies related to the subject.

The students of the experimental group were taught according to the cooperative learning strategy; As for the control group, it was taught according to the normal teaching strategy.

there is a statistically significant difference between the arithmetic The results of the t-test for the two study groups on the post- achievement test in Earth and Environmental Sciences showed that mean of the study members who studied using the cooperative learning strategy and the arithmetic mean of the study members who studied using the normal teaching strategy.

The superiority in achievement was in favor of the study subjects who studied using the cooperative learning strategy.
