Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the relationship between death anxiety and the level of hope in light of the Corona pandemic among a sample of elderly people in Jordan, where the researchers used the descriptive approach with its two parts analytical and relational, and the study sample consisted of (321) elderly (males and females), who were chosen by the intentional method available from them (55) An elderly person residing in elderly care homes, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers used the death anxiety scale and the hope scale, the results showed that the level of death anxiety was high, and the level of hope was moderate, and the study results indicated a negative relationship between death anxiety, its dimensions, and the level of Hope and its dimensions (pathways, energy), and the existence of differences in the level of death anxiety, and the level of hope are attributed to the variable of place of residence, as it was found that the differences in death anxiety were in favor of those residing in the elderly home, and with regard to the level of hope, the differences were in favor of those who reside with their families.

And the existence of differences in the level of death anxiety attributable to the age variable in favor of those above (80) years old, and as for the level of hope attributable to those from (60 to less than 80) years old, the study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: the work of developmental programs, in health For the elderly, setting up indicative programs to improve the level of hope among the elderly.
