Abstract EN

Background and problem:Art therapy has been adopted as one of the medicinal solutions used for treating chronic diseases in general, and different cancers in special, as it helps to release pent-up feelings that form a psychological burden that should be released, especially in times of crises and illness.

The research sample was exclusively based on breast cancer patients due to the psychological harm they face and the corresponding support they direly need.

These patients, due to their sensitive psychologies, may find in practicing the arts in general, and jewelry design in particular, a refuge to get out of the sufferings they face, to express their pent-up feelings, and to fill the impairments in their soul by pleasing themselves through the art they produce.Statement of the Research Problem: Spread of cancer, especially breast cancer and difficulty of its treatment stages, along with its severe psychological traumas associated with the female body changes have created a critical need for psychological support through various means and solutions.

The research presumes that jewelry design can play an important role in psychological recovery of breast cancer patients.Research Objectives:Measuring the psychological impact of jewelry design on a sample of breast cancer patients.Significance of the Research: Providing psychological support to breast cancer patients by expressing their feelings and venting their psychological burdens through art and design.Research Methodology: The research follows descriptive, analytical and deductive methods.Research Results: The research found great enthusiasm after announcing a workshop for jewelry design, and a significant interaction by the research sample during the experiment
