Research in Sufi literature was the preoccupation of people in both ancient and modern times.

Sufi studies and literature have varied, as has the interest of Muslims and other researchers in them.

These researchers also differed regarding the consideration of what was issued by the Sufi mystics ;whether it is Sufism or a faraway philosophy, especially that, according to many, it did not originate from the Islamic environment, or whether it is Sufism with a philosophical nature in which the Sufis are distinguished from the others.
