In this research paper, we discuss the development of the idea of constitutional control in Algeria, by looking at the constitutional institutions that were entrusted with this task, which were the constitutional council and then the constitutional court, which is what emerges in the evolution of the structure and powers.

as the constitutional legislator tried to keep pace with the development of methods of oversight on the constitutionality of laws, especially after approving the mechanism for the defense of unconstitutionality, and adopting a new type of constitutional oversight, in which some of the components of the constitutional council were preserved with some amendments regarding the formation and expansion of powers, especially those related to of them in the area of notification.
