The study aimed to investigate the extent to which the English language teachers of the basic stage practice active learning strategies.

the study population consisted of all the teachers of English for the basic stage in the directorate of education of the Qweismeh district in the capital, Amman, who numbered 450 male and female teachers, and the study sample consisted of (208).

a male and female teacher, and they were chosen randomly, and to achieve the goal of the study, the questionnaire tool was used after ensuring its validity and reliability, and the descriptive survey method was used; as the most appropriate curriculum for study purposes.

the results of the study showed that the total extent of the English language teachers’ practice of the basic stage of active teaching strategies from their point of view was medium, and that the study sample’s estimates for all areas of the study tool were medium, with the exception of the areas of dialogue and discussion, and problem solving, which had a high rating range, and the lowest estimate for the field of study.
