Zakat has a double pirpose as it is a worship and a development tool provided by the Islamic economy as a remedy for what human societies suffer from the imbalance in the distribution of wealth and income.

Zakat is the mainstay of the financial policy in Islam, it came to fight hoarding and poverty and encourage investment by creating productive projects for employment and providing basic needs.

Its contribution to addressing the economic crises produced by man-made regimes by providing many mechanisms that in their entirety constitute an effective treatment for economic cycles and work to revitalize them.
