Abstract EN

The Research aims to reveal the differences in flexible thinking and social-emotional competence in a sample of faculty staff at Al-Azhar University attributed to the differences in gender, age, marital status, academic degree, and specialization.

In addition, the research addresses the differences in flexible thinking attributed to the various levels of social-emotional competence (high – medium – low).

To study such differences, a scale of flexible thinking and social-emotional competence were applied to (704) members of faculty staff at Al-Azhar University.

The findings showed differences at statistical significance level of 0.01 between the average scores of the research sample in flexible thinking according to age, marital status, and academic degree.

there are no significant differences in flexible thinking in the variables of gender and scientific specialization.

and there are differences at statistical significance level of 0.01 between the average scores of the research sample in social-emotional competence according to age, marital status, and academic degree, there are no differences in the social-emotional competence according to the gender and scientific specialization, Moreover, the findings showed that there are differences of statistical significance at level of 0.01 between the average scores of the faculty staff in the research sample of flexible thinking as a whole and its dimensions according to the levels of social-emotional competence for high social-emotional efficiency.
