Abstract EN

Amazement has been always considered as one of the main characteristics of story telling.

it is linked to all what goes against the recipient's expectations, bewilders him when reacting to what is happening, and changes the course of events.

on the one hand, this element appears repeatedly in the Kuran stories in a variety of ways and contributed enormously to serve the aesthetic and artistic aspect in these stories through adding more thrill and suspense to make the reader more attentive, focused and excited at the same time on the other hand, it contributed to help achieve the purposes and objectives of the prophet Mohammed's message which has made of Kuran stories one of the means to be conveyed and consolidated, as this element of amazement in the holy Quran was based on the divine miracles to defy the mankind in general, and the obstinate and the ungrateful in particular, who have all found themselves facing many events that go beyond their abilities and exceed the limits of their perceptions and expectations what gives abundant evidence on the oneness of the almighty god, his greatness and his limitless ability, his good management, and that nothing in heaven or on the earth can prove him incapable.
