Abstract EN

This article aims to clarify the term “AlHadith Almatrouk” and the details of using it by scholars on narrators and narrated, pinpointing Ibn Hajar’s purposes of this type of Hadith.

It is also to point out the correspondence between the theoretical and applied aspects of Ibn Hajar on “AlHadith Almatrouk”.

The study employs the inductive and analytical approach.

It concludes with a number of findings including: 1.

Ibn Hajar invented the term “AlHadith Almatrouk” for the narrator who is accused of lying, though Ibn Al-Mulqan indicated this before him, using the term “Almaodhou’”, which is avoided by Ibn Hajar.

Hadith narrators use the term “Almatrouk” widely.

Ibn Hajar wanted to propose a better name for the best status than “Almaodhou’” and worse than weak, thus, “AlHadith Almatrouk”.

Though some scholars have gone the same way, Ibn Hajar differs from them in two things: naming and specializing “AlHadith Almatrouk” for who is accused of lying.

Ibn Hajar also contradicts himself.

He did not use the term he invented in his books, but followed the previous narrators, calling it “Munkar, Batil”.
