Abstract EN

A field experiment was carried out at the Field Experiment Station/College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences/Al-Jadriya, for the cultivation of Cabbage during the fall season of 2021.

The experiment factors were: irrigation at depletion 30, 60% of the available water and adding soil conditioner by Compost (20 Mg.

ha-1), Perlite (4 Mg.

ha-1), Compost (10 Mg.

ha-1) + Perlite (2 Mg.

ha-1).

The depletion factors in the main plots and soil conditioner in the secondary plots were set within the RCBD design with four replicates according to arrangement of the SPLIT PLOT.

The results showed the superiority of the compost in reducing the amount of added water (444.8 m3 ha-1) and increasing both yield (44.96 Mg.

ha-1), field water use efficiency (100.46 kg m-3) and crop water use efficiency (212.94 kg mm-1 ha-1).

The treatment of adding water at the rate of depletion of 30% of the available water was superior to increase in yield (47.65 Mg.

ha-1), field water use efficiency (85.57 kg m-3) and crop water use efficiency (178.40 kg mm-1 ha-1 ).
