A field experiment was carried out at the Scientific research stations of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences/University of Baghdad/AL-Jadiriyah for the season 2021, located within latitude 33.27 north and longitude 44.39 east in Silty loam soil by split split plot arrangement with a randomized completely block Design with three replications to study the effect of adding vermicompost and ammonium sulfate fertilizers and batches on the yield of squash, The nitrogen fertilizer was added in three levels (0, 50% , 100% ) of the fertilizer recommendation (0, 80, 160) kg N ha-1 (N0, N1, N2) respectively and organic fertilizer (vermicompost) was added in three levels (0, 5, 10) Mgha-1 (V0, V1, V2) respectively, the fertilizers added in two batches after (10, 20) days of planting and three batches after (10, 20, 40) days of planting.

The results showed the significant effect of adding batches of ammonium sulfate fertilizer and vermicompost, on the available quantities of nitrogen and phosphorous in the soil, and total yield, the treatment P2V1N2 outperformed and gave the highest amount of available nitrogen in the soil amounted to 58.27 Mg N kg-1 treatment P2V2N1 gave highest amount of available of phosphorous in the soil amounted to 30.0 Mg P kg-1 and the total yield reached 21.53 Mg h-1 and we conclude that it's preferable to divide both the organic and mineral fertilizers in batches, and it is possible to use the vermicompost with half amount of mineral fertilizer, reducing mineral fertilizer by replacing it with organic fertilizers to maintain healthy soil and because the vermicompost is environmentally safe.
