Bacillus mucilaginosus (B1) and Pseudomonas fluorescens (B2) were isolated and identified from different plants rhizosphere soil which grown in different locations, and the effectiveness of these bacterial isolates in dissolving and release potassium from mica in Alexandrovite solid medium was evaluted.

Two bacterial isolates of Bacillus mucilaginosus and Pseudomonas fluorescens were selected to study their role in decomposition of biotite and muscovite (as asole sources of potassium) and the promotion of potassium release in Alexandrov liquid medium.

Results showed that the isolate B2 released the highest amount of soluble potassium after 7 days of incubation with muscovite in Alexandrov liquid medium, as the amount of soluble potassium was 5.8 ml l-1.

As for the comparison treatment (non-inoculation), it achieved an amount of soluble potassium that reached 4.3 ml l-1, while the isolate B1 liberated the lowest amount of dissolved potassium amounted to 4.2 ml l-1.

while for the presence of biotite in the Alexandrovite medium, B1 isolate recorded the highest amount of dissolved potassium, which was 10.7 ml l-1, higher than the control treatment, while B2 isolate liberated the amount of dissolved potassium amounted to 8.9 ml l-1 higher than the control treatment, with an increase of 53.4% .

After 21 days of incubation with muscovite, the results showed that the two isolates B1 and B2 liberated more soluble potassium than the control treatment, with an increase of 42.8% and 54.76% , respectively.

While there is no significant difference between these two isolates B1 and B2 in the amount of liberated potassium.

In the presence of biotite, B2 and B1 bacterial isolates liberated the highest amount of soluble potassium, which amounted to 41 ml l-1, 38 ml l-1 respectively, compared to the control treatment that liberated the lowest amount of soluble potassium amounted to 10.4 ml l-1 with an increase of 294.2% , 265.4% respectively, while there is no significant difference between the two isolates B2 and B1 in liberated soluble potassium.
