The experiment was conducted in one of the fields affiliated to the Maysan Agriculture Directorate of the Nursery Research AL-Mashtal in 2022 to study the effect of the locally manufactured compound machine that is used for plowing and softening at the same time on some performance indicators of the machine.

The second main factor is the smoothing angle of the disc harrows in three levels 18˚, 20˚, 25˚ and their effect on the following characteristics: practical productivity, number of soil blocks with diameters greater than 5 cm, soil resistance to penetration and bulk density of soil.

The experiment was designed using a random design system (split-plot) with the least significant difference (LSD) at the level of 0.05.

The results showed that increasing the plowing depth from 10 to 20 to 30 cm led to a decrease in the practical productivity of the machine from 0.35, 0.34, 0.33 ha.

h-1 and an increase Significant increase in the number of soil blocks greater than 5 cm from 5.99, 9.29, 11.76 cm, as well as a significant increase in soil penetration resistance of 1.57, 2.56, 3.44 kg.

cm-2, respectively.

And there was a significant increase in the values of the bulk density of the soil amounting to 1.23, 1.34, 1.41 mg.

m-3.

The results also showed that the increase in the smoothing angle of the disc harrows from 18˚ to 20˚ to 25˚ led to a significant decrease in the practical productivity from 0.34 to 0.34 to 0.33 ha.

h-1 sequentially.

The number of earthen lumps decreased significantly from 9.62, 9.12, 7.16 cm, while the resistance to soil penetration increased significantly from 2.35, 2.42, and 2.82 kg.

cm-2 respectively.

The bulk density values also recorded an increase of 1.31, 1.32 and 1.34 mg.

m-3 sequentially.
