Abstract EN

This paper deals with the religious architectural activity of King Taharqa in the country of Kush - from the construction and restoration of houses of worship “temples”, and the importance of this paper stems from the fact that it was exposed to the activities of the temples, which had a great importance in spreading religious thought derived from the power of the god Amun who was worshiped at that period in those roles.

This paper aimed to highlight the religious architectural activity of King Taharqa and to highlight the temple and its historical importance and civilizational status.

The research problem was the importance of the religious institution that played an important role in the foreign victories of the Kushite kings, in addition to their coronation.

It included various regions within the Kingdom of Kush.

The paper followed the historical, descriptive, and analytical method, and the study came out with a number of results, the most important of which are: that King Taharqa paid great attention to the religious institution, as he worked on constructing new temples and restoring what was about to fall.

He also worked to bring architects from Memphis to carry out the construction, decoration, coloring and engraving of some temples in the hieroglyphic language, which indicates the religiosity of King Taharqu himself and his interest in the religious institution that he paid his attention to before he was crowned king.

The research also came out with a number of recommendations represented in the interest in the restoration and maintenance of the many temples that Taharqu built in the country of Kush and work to protect them because they represent the cultural heritage of this benevolent country.
