Abstract EN

It is well known that the Fung has ruled the area of the Gezira during the flourishing of their state, because of the Halaween region’s location within the Fung state geographical and cultural context.

This paper is trying to talk about the situation of the community in Halaween area during the rule of Fung Kingdom, and the nature of the relationship between the ruler in Sennar and the citizensin Halaween area, with attempting to understand the Halaween’ scontributionduring that period; what wasits nature.

This paper also discusses some personalities that may have influenced the religious and intellectual movement in the area of the Gezira, and they were a part of the social entity of the Halaween region.

As well, the paper based on alittle information about the area found in some of the references that involved the history of Fung kingdom.

It is also relied on the analysis and the inference, which based on scanty news for the region and the people during the Fung era.

It was resulted through the analysis and conclusion to doubtless that this area was bound to be cultural and economic tributary to the area of the Gezira, and to the central government in Sennar, but it is necessary to undertake new research in order to reach more and stronger information about this area.
