Abstract EN

This study dealt with intertextuality phenomenon in the collected poems (Diwan) of Abu-Ishaq Al-EIlbiri Al-Andalusi, a prominent Andalusian poet in the Fifth Century AH.

The descriptive approach is used in order to find out Intertextuality in the poetry of Al-EIlbiri, discover its types, show its importance, objective and technical functions.

The study came in an introduction, a preface, three sections and a conclusion.

The preface was to introduce the poet and the concept of intertextuality.

The first section dealt with intertextuality in the Holy Qur’an.

The second section included intertextuality with the Noble Hadith (Sayings of the Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him), and the third section presented intertextuality in the Arab poetry.

The paper came out with several results; the most important are that: intertextuality forms an essential part of the textual structure in Al-EIlbiri’s poetry.

It constitutes a prominent and distinct phenomenon that is widely spread in his poems.

Al-EIlbiri employed it skillfully in order to serve his purposes and reflect his extensive culture in the Holy Qur’an, the Noble Hadith, and the Arab poetry, which reflected his literary ability and artistic talent.
