This research addressed the linguistic derivation its concept and origin, the motive of selecting the issue was the accusation of the Arabic language of the inability to comply with modernized and new scientific titles, and the new discoveries in the different fields, the study aimed to prove the Arabic language ability to fulfill the modern life requirements through addressing one of the means of the language which was the linguistic derivation, the study required that the paper should be in two topics, first the concept of derivation, it was clear that derivation was deriving word from another word or text from other one, with association in the other of the two words or texts, the second topic addressed the origin of the derivation in the different doctrines new and old, the derivation means was characterized with being different from the other means of languages growth from Arabic and non-Arabic origins, which was a clear prove of the Arabic language richness, and its ability to express the facts of the sciences material and terminologies, and its not being negligent in helping about an idea or concept that someone wanted to express.
