Poetry of the baggara in the state of south darfur, to knowing the extent of the impact of the local environment on those poems and the metaphors contained in them.

this is due to the importance of folklore in the life of every nation; because the nation has no heritage as a body without a soul and an existence without an identity, and therefore it is necessary to advocate diligently to study the different rhetorical colors in popular poetry in the service of the present and future of the sudanese nation.

the importance of this research is that it opens the door to identifying the various rhetorical images used in popular poems.

therefore, this study adds new importance to these popular poems, so that they can be used when presenting rhetorical lessons to students to bring closer the rhetorical and aesthetic images and embody them in the minds of students.

because these images are from the local environment, they are easy to understand and assimilate.

likewise, the importance of this study is that it preserves these poems from being lost and extinct.

most of them are narrated orally and thus may be forgotten as the days go.

the researchers followed the descriptive analytical approach.

the researchers have reached many conclusions, including : the original metaphor is more prevalent in baggara poetry than the dependency metaphor.

because the original metaphor is the parent, the subordination is the branch, and the parent is more frequent than the branch.

one of the characteristics of the poetry of the baggara is that it was created as a basis for singing and chanting, so it is based on the rhythm of the rhythm in the pronunciation as a hymn to the verse so that the verses have one time dimensionthe weight of the popular baggara poetry, but it is possible to control its integrity by means of the musical rhythm.
