Abstract EN

The current study aimed to identify the relationship between acceptance of disability and emotional intelligence among persons with physical disabilities in the Gaza Strip.

the researchers used the descriptive analytical approach.

The study sample consisted of (364) participants (218 males and 146 females).

Aacceptance of disability questionnaire and emotional intelligence scale were used.

The results showed that the level of acceptance of disability was (70%) and the level of emotional intelligence was (77%).

The findings also revealed that there is a statistically significant positive correlation between accepting disability and emotional intelligence.

The findings also indicated that there are statistically significant differences in the acceptance of disability according to (gender, number of family members, degree of disability), while there are no statistically significant differences in the degree of acceptance of disability according to age.

It was also found that there were statistically significant differences in the degree of emotional intelligence according to (age, number of family members, degree of disability, while there were no statistically significant differences in the degree of emotional intelligence according to gender.

The study recommended the need to provide rehabilitation programs that address health, social and psychological aspects, raise the capabilities of persons with physical disabilities and the degree of community awareness of the concept of disability.
