The researcher in writing the history of foreign trade relations of Algiers regency of Ottoman Empire from the beginning of the 16th century to the beginning of the 19th century, relies on archival documents as a raw material formed by the links with the high door and the European powers and includes various parallels, treaties, correspondence and reports, which makes us in The problem of the search for archival documents, material being in many Mediterranean powers such as : France, Spain, Italian cities, England, ….

The period wich we are studing in this paper in the National Archives of Algeria( at Bir Khadem) is incomplete, since the French colonial administration acquired tons of archives upon independence in ( 1500 cans) , which were converted into French archives in various French cities (National Archives of Paris).

The French Foreign Ministry Archive, Overseas in the city of Aix-en-Provence ( les archives d’outre-merd’Aix).

During the modern period, its opportunities saturate the shortage of local documents because of its numbers, statistics, international currencies, measurements of sizes, lengths….
