Abstract EN

By sampling a number of the hadiths and prophetic exhortations mentioned in it, this study explores the deposits of prophetic discourse’s consideration of the conditions of the recipients in Sahih Al-Bukhari.

To this end, the study deliberatively approaches the Hadiths by examining their rhetoric, taking into account that they share fundamental principles transmitted from a specific source and directed to a specific receiver in a specific context.

Furthermore, the study considers the rhetoric’s role in demonstrating the receiver-transmitter interactionism, taking into account the context-specificity and intentionality, and its role in determining the purpose of the prophetic message that respects the receiver and is keen to change his\her condition for the better by simulating the exhortations that either encourage or discourage a certain action.

The recipients’ conditions varied, as some had no solid background, while others were highly responsive, on the other hand, some were reluctant out of doubt, while others were ignorant out of disbelief.

Therefore, the prophet’s means of precaution and proposition varied from dialogue, gradualism, reasoning, etc., according to the context and the recipients’ conditions, so that they accept his rhetoric and get positively influenced by it, ensuring the success of the communicative process.
