Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the causes of bullying among primary school students in Bani Obaid district in Irbid governorate from the point of view of educational counselors.

to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method.

the questionnaire was used as the main tool for collecting information.

the study sample was chosen randomly as it was applied to a sample of (40) female and male counselors.

the results of the study showed that the field of causes of the phenomenon of bullying among the students of the basic stage was average, so that the arithmetic mean reached (3.33), and the field of manifestations of the phenomenon of bullying among the students of the basic stage was medium so that the arithmetic mean was (3.21), and the results of the study also showed that there are no statistically significant differences.

in addition, the reasons for the phenomenon of bullying among students of the basic stage are attributed to the variables (gender, educational qualification, years of experience(.based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommended recommendations, including the preparation of the educational counselor for preventive and curative guidance programs that suit the characteristics of the students’ age and the culture of the local environment of the school and the strengthening of the student’s value building derived from the positive values and culture of the Jordanian society, activating school activities that invest leisure time in students to practice their hobbies and abilities in the correct manner, activating the role of the educational counselor in developing the values of tolerance and democracy, respecting opinions and other opinions, and accepting constructive criticism among students to reduce differences between them, which is the main catalyst for the phenomenon of bullying.
