Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the extent to which the Arabic language books for the basic intermediate stage in Jordan include the cultural and social heritage.

the study tool was developed in a list that represents the cultural and social heritage; it consisted of two areas: the cultural heritage and its six components (6), the social heritage and its six components (6); the content analysis method was used, where the sentence, semi-sentence, and word were taken as a unit for analysis, down to the quantitative data represented in frequencies and percentages.

the results showed that the books (the course of the research) did not focus on the cultural and social heritage appropriately, but rather did not touch the needs and characteristics of the target age group.

the results revealed that the books did not take into account the principle of sequencing in their handling of the cultural and social heritage, and did not adopt a clear methodology, but rather carved a traditional, random approach in their handling of the cultural and social heritage under study.

in Jordan, in its inclusion of the cultural and social heritage, and the extent to which it observes the principles of integration and succession and the principles of self-learning and constructivism in its handling.
