Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the extent to which social and national education books for the upper basic stage in Jordan include cultural and civilizational heritage.

The study tool was developed in a list that represents heritage, culture and civilization; It consisted of two areas: the cultural heritage and its six components (6), the cultural heritage and its seven components (7); The content analysis method was used where the sentence, semi-sentence and word were taken as a unit for analysis, down to the quantitative data represented in frequencies and percentages.

The results showed that the books (the course of the research) did not focus on the cultural and social heritage appropriately, but rather dealt with it without affecting the needs and characteristics of the target age group.

The results revealed that the books did not take into account in their handling of the cultural and civilizational heritage the principle of sequencing, and did not adopt a clear methodology, but rather carved a traditional, random approach in dealing with the cultural and civilizational heritage during the research.

In Jordan, in its inclusion of heritage, culture and civilization, and the extent to which it takes into account the principles of integration and succession and the principles of self-learning and constructivism in its handling.
