Speech acts are actions which are performed by utterances as promise, offer, request, compliment, and warn.

These acts specify the communicative intentions of speakers in producing an utterance.

It is very significant to understand the context in which such utterances occur.

The use of speech acts helps the author to highlight the intended messages where he desires better communication with her readers, wishing them to find deep meanings in his work.
