Litigation before the international court of justice is the judicial body of the united nations and its only organ among its six organs. its headquarters is (the hague-netherlands). it began to work in 1946 and has judicial activity in accordance with the provisions of international law in settling disputes between countries, in addition to its advisory function in the fatwa requested by the united nations bodies and specialized agencies. a distinguished activity in the eighties, and it consists of 15 judges who are elected from the united nations general assembly and the security council for a period of 9 years.
