Abstract EN

The study aimed to explore the perceptions of female teachers and parents, mothers and fathers, about integrating male students of the first three elementary grades in girls' schools at Qassim Region.

The study adopted qualitative approach, and employed the interview for data collection.

A purposeful sample of 30 participants was selected: 15 female teachers, 5 fathers and 10 mothers.

The study came up with several results.

There is a concern about the speed of applying the process of integrating male students of the elementary grades in girls' schools, and assigning female teachers to teach them.

This may lead to some negative effects on the educational process, male students, female teachers and learning outcomes.

In addition, the results indicate that the integration process negatively affects the chances of employing male teachers, which may increase unemployment among Saudi men.

The study presented some recommendations.

First, preparing female teachers to teach elementary grade students.

Second, it is important to conduct studies on the process of integrating elementary grade male students into girls’ schools.

After evaluating this experience, it is possible to identify the extent of its success, weaknesses, and strengths.
