Abstract EN

The study aimed to investigate quality of life among the blind at the blind union in Khartoum state, and also to find out whether there is any significant statistical difference in (gender, age, educational level).

The importance of the study was due to scarcity of researches and previous studies tackled quality of life among the blind, and also those individual are regarded as active normal people who can actively participate in community development.

The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method for data collection, and the sample comprised (200) respondents: (98) males and (102) females, they were selected purposively and accidently.

The researcher administered a scale for measuring quality of life prepared by Fresh (1992) and translated by Muntasir Kamal (2000).

The data was analyzed statistically via the statistical package for social science (SPSS).

The results revealed that general trait of quality of life among the blind union in Khartoum state was positive, there was a significant statistical difference in quality of life among the blind attributed to gender favored male, there was no significant difference in quality of life among the blind attributed to age favored (36-45) years old, moreover, there was no significant difference in quality of life among the blind attributed to educational level.

In conclusion, the researcher recommended that basic needs should be available so that to improve the quality of life among the blind, as well as awareness and support should be increased.
