This article aims to identify the main determinants of the degree of development of social health insurance in Algeria.
to this end, we applied the ARDL estimation method to model the long-term and short-term dynamics of the relationship between the development of social health insurance and its determinants.
the results of the estimation of the long-term equilibrium relationship confirm in particular the existence of a cointegration relationship that positively links the development of social health insurance to the number of doctors per 1000 inhabitants, the number of beds per 1000 inhabitants, to public health expenditure and negatively to the unemployment rate.

Le présent article a pour objectif d’identifier les principaux déterminants du degré de développement de l’assurance maladie sociale en Algérie.
a cet effet, nous avons appliqué la méthode d’estimation ARDL pour modéliser la dynamique de long terme et de court terme de la relation entre développement de l’assurance maladie sociale et ses déterminants.
les résultats des estimations des relations d’équilibre à long terme confirment en particulier l’existence d’une relation de cointégration qui lie positivement le développement de l’assurance maladie sociale au nombre de médecins pour 1000 habitants, aux dépenses publiques de santé et négativement au taux de chômage.
