Abstract EN

The current study came under the title of the duality of presence and absence in the work of Basra artists, and it included four chapters: chapter one (the general framework of the research) in which the research problem was reviewed and then dealt with the importance of the research and the need for it to determine the limits of the research, followed by a list of terms that were identified as for the second chapter (the theoretical framework of the research), it included three sections: the first topic: the philosophical concept of presence and absence, the second topic: presence and absence in European painting, and the third topic: presence and absence in Iraqi painting, and the third chapter included (research procedures) in which it was identified the researcher, the method, the research community, its sample, the user, and the tool used in analyzing the sample models.

she reached a number of results and conclusions, the most important of which are : 1- the duality of presence and absence can help us accept the duality of interpretation.

2- a distinctive marriage between more than one school and style, such as symbolism and expressiveness, with a subjective character, so that its features appear from the artist’s voluntariness of color and his ability to use tools.

3- the indicative movement of the event, despite the abstract appearance of the painting, is manifested through the duality of presence and absence in bold and brief color climates of formal formations.

4- the dialectic of presence and absence works in its transition between spaces and archaeological sites to enhance the feeling of belonging to the place with its interrelationships.

the conclusions are : 1- presence and absence are a debate with open borders.

2- it is based on reciprocal relationships such as (absence) relationships, which represent the structural aspect of language, and consequential relationships are (presence) relationships.
