English Abstract

Over the past two decades, medical tourism ٤$ regarded as one of fast- growing sector in specialized tourism markets.

this study aims at assessing the in frastructure of medical tourism in Asir region, Saudi Arabia; and the suitability of the region for the rise of this type of tourism.

This study relied on primary data sources such as interviews, observations, and other secondary sources from various bodies such as ministries and agencies data.

The importance of the study arises fron the great attention paid to this this sector and the unique aspects that Asir Region has in the Kingdom and the Gulf region.

Besides, the economic and social impact of tourism on the region and its residents.

The study comes to the conclusion that Asir region has the human and natural aspects which could support the establishment medical tourism industry such as hot water springs, medicinal and aromatic plants, internationally accredited health institutions؛ as well as the elements of medical tourism the region has qualify it for this.

The study recommends paying attention to hot springs by building a health resort for hydrotherapy in the Al-Ahsarian area؛ qualifying the accredited hospitals to be a high-quality global treatment centers in specific medical fields with the help of the trained medical cadres from inside or outside the Kingdom.

In addition to establishing specialized farms and research centers for medicinal and aromatic plants of economic feasibility.
