Abstract EN

This study addresses with the demographics structure of the Sudan in general, with a focus on the ethnic composition of the Eastern Sudan.

The importance of the study stems from the fact that the Eastern Sudan is considered a border region and an area of overlap with a number of countries.

In addition, Eastern Sudan has witnessed episodes of human migration that affected the ethnic composition in the region.

Therefore, the study aimed to explain the ethnic diversity in the region.

The study used mixed research methods to investigate the research topic.

The historical descriptive method was used to trace the ethnic groups in the region, while statistical analysis to analyze the data.

The study found that population interactions and migrations have affected the current ethnic structure of the Sudan in general and specifically change the ethnic structure in the study area.

The Eastern Sudan currently includes a number of different racial and ethnic groups, each of which is turn are related to a larger number of races, ethnicities with their main and subgroups.
