Abstract EN

The study, entitled Tribal Conflicts in Darfur and its impact on local and regional security, aimed at identifying the overall tribal conflicts that have occurred in Darfur since Darfur s annexation of bilateral rule at the beginning of the 20th century and monitoring the series of tribal conflicts that have raged in Darfur from that period until the 2000s.

The study used several approaches, including the historical and descriptive analytical approaches, to address the problem of the study.

The study found several findings, the most important of which is that tribal conflicts in Darfur began in the context of traditional competition in pastures and water and evolved towards ethnic polarization until they reached political polarization, and the roles of national governments since independence have been negative in dealing with these conflicts, leading conflicts to complex conflicts that are widespread and high-intensity.

Their effects have been reflected in local and regional security.
