New enantiomeric separation of Salbutamol sulphate was developed using reversed phase HPLC (RP-HPLC) with carboxy methyl beta cyclodextrine (CM-β-CD) as chiral mobile phase additive.
The effects of the pH value, concentration of chiral additive, composition of mobile phase on the enantiomeric separation of Salbutamol sulphate were investigated.The separation was achieved on calssical C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm × 5.0 μm).
A good resolution was achieved using a mobile phase consisting of a mixture of (71.42%: 11.92%: %8.33:% 8.33) aqueous solution :methanol: 50mM phosphatic buffer: sodium hydroxide 0.05 N, respectively (pH of 3.8 and 1.75 g/l CM-??-CD), with flow rate of 0.5 mL/min.
The method was economical and convenient, affording sufficient accuracy, precision and reproducibility.
