Billions of patients suffer from wounds and skin tissue-relateddevastating form of trauma worldwide.
Therefore, electrospinning method was used to prepare nanofiber mats,based onPLLA as a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer.Then Azithromycin AZM as an antibacterial agent and Lidocaine hydrochloride as a local anesthetic were incorporated.The drug-polymer interactions were evaluated by using FTIR, XRD and DSC, and the fiber morphology was investigated by SEM.
Fibers-waterwetability were measured bycontact angle method.
Azithromycin loaded fibers different concentrations 20,30 and 40% w/w were sterilized using Gammairradiation, then their antimicrobial characteristics were evaluated.
Fibers diameterswerebetween 60-250nm.
The wetting properties of scaffolds were enhanced by adding drugs.Microbial growth inhibitions were identified for scaffoldsloaded with Azithromycin.
