Abstract EN
The aim of this study was to prepare a patches containing Ketotifen fumarate by using hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMCK15M) as a matrix of the drug.
Span60, Tween60, Cremophor EL, and Menthol were used as chemical penetration enhancers.
And to investigate the effect of these agents on physicochemical properties of transdermal patches, like folding endurance, uniformity of weight, content uniformity, moisture uptake and content, also the release rate of Ketotifen fumarate from the matrix of patch in-vitro was evaluated.
The study indicated that release rate was decreased by adding this agents.
The formulation F4 containing tween 60 showed maximum release (91.89±0.9%) in 24h, and formulation F5 containing Cremophor EL showed minimum release of (81.20±1.4%) in 24h.
