Abstract EN

Title: At-Tibyan (elucidation) of rulings pertaining to Khatm al-Qur'an (finishing its recitation).

Topic of Study: It discusses various matters pertaining to Khatm al-Qur'an, starting with the virtues of reciting the Qur'an, the recommended time period for completing the recitation, fasting the day of the Khatm, saying Takbeer (Allahu Akbar) between the ending chapters, Du a (supplication) of Khatm al-Qur'an, and rulings pertaining to this Dua.

Aims of the Study: Since many of the rituals pertaining to Khatm al-Qur'an have become common practice among professional reciters and even laymen, so much so that they have come to be considered liturgical rites, I decided to study their validity in the light of evidences and statements of scholars, so that people will be aware of the differences of opinion regarding them .

Study Layout: It is composed of an Introduction, twelve chapters, Conclusion, and indices.

Among the most important conclusions and recommendations were: 1-The narration of saying Takbeer is considered acceptable by reciters, and it is their practice.

2-Gathering ones family and children at the time of Khatm al-Qur'an (for supplication) was practiced by some of the pious predecessors.

3-The whole Qur'an can be possibly recited in one night.

4-There is nothing wrong in performing Du a of Khatm al-Qur'an outside the state of Salat (ritualistic prayer).

5-Du a of Khatm al-Qur'an while in the state of Salat has been performed by some of the pious predecessors.

6-It is not appropriate for a person to leave the congregation (and finish his prayer alone) if the Imam makes Dua of Khatm al-Qur'an in the state of Salat.
