The Chinese Tik Tok application appeared - in 2016 in China and in 2017 in the rest of the world - as a social networking application for the production and sharing of short videos.

Due to the different and distinct characteristics of the application, the number of its users is increasing dramatically and continuously around the world, especially among youth.

The Chinese Tik Tok application appeared - in 2016 in China and in 2017 in the rest of the world - as a one of social networks application for the production and sharing of short videos.

Due to the different and distinct characteristics of the application, the number of its users is increasing dramatically and continuously around the world, especially among young people.

This research seeks to monitor the extent to which the use of Tik Tok has transformed into what can be called excessive use (as the first order effects of Tik Tok), mania (as the second order of influences), and addiction (as the third order of influences).

The research was depended on the survey method that was conducted on 400 Egyptian university students (Ain Shams, Menoufia, 6th of October, British University) who use the Tik Tok application.

The main motives for this use are escaping from reality, social interaction, and obtaining information.

As for the extent of the respondents' addiction to the application, the results revealed that more than half of the respondents are not addicted to the application.

Finally, the study found a statistically significant relationship between university youth's addiction to the application of "Tik Tok" and their academic performance.
