The names, or the attributes mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, carry many connotations, and the assumption of Al-Khalil Al-Farahidi was the relationship between the name of God’s Prophet Lot (peace be upon him) and the reprehensible action of his people that raised the question of the researcher about the validity and value of this claim; Because it contradicts doctrinally with the infallibility of the Prophets (peace be upon him), which requires a rational mind that would cleanse them from everything that harms them.

This matter prompted the researcher to question the meaning of the name of the Prophet of God Lot (peace be upon him), knowing this meaning completely refutes that alleged relationship and rejects it.

Determining that meaning according to his vision based on the existence of a general context that determines the meanings of the names in the Holy Qur’an.

With a review of what Abu Saada mentioned, and the connotations that were split from the root (l and i) due to the phonetic substitution in Arabic and the rest of the Semites, it became clear that we can assume other connotations and meanings for this name.

Because it has a different general context, the name dates back to the era of Ibrahim (peace be upon him), and not to the time of his people.
