The current study seeks to explain the causes of contamination of drinking water suitable for human use from the point of view of a sample of specialists in Baghdad.

An individual, distributed over a set of demographic variables.

In order to collect the necessary data to achieve the objectives of the current study, the researcher built a questionnaire consisting of (10) paragraphs distributed on the causes of drinking water pollution, and after extracting a set of statistical characteristics necessary for the questionnaire, the study was applied to the sample, The study reached the following results: 1.

Specialists believe that sewage disposal is the main reason for not obtaining potable water in Baghdad 2.

The complex geographical nature and the numerous demographics, in addition to the overcrowding of the population in each region prevents access to potable water.

The existence of the problem of drinking water pollution is a reality that cannot be easily changed unless the state is serious about dealing with this file.

The private drinking water purification plants can push the wheel of providing potable water with the governmental purification plants due to the spread of such plants in all cities of Baghdad.
