Abstract EN

The research discussed two applied models, namely, Mcginn’s disgust and its relationship to consciousness, and Mcginn’s ethics and its relationship to consciousness, as well.

the first model included the meaning of disgust as one of the human feelings listed within under the unwanted feelings and its connection to both fear and hatred.

the second model included morality and its connection to consciousness, too ; and studying Shakespearian ethics.

disgust is a human feeling that is different from other human feelings such as fear and hatred.

man may feel disgust from something that does not cause fear or hatred.

this is because one does not think that this thing has never caused any damage or harm before, and will never cause any harm or damage in the future.

the natural expression of revulsion is not defensive.

the visual disgust depends on taste.

accordingly, one wants to avoid some cases of consciousness, which does not apply to fear and hatred.

thus, the revulsion is physical not mental.

we avoid a thing that is dangerous for our bodies, but for disgust, the harm is never physically considered.

we do not necessarily fear from the harm coming from the disgusting thing to our bodies.

if this thing is possible to harm us physically, the corresponding response in this case would be fear.

what we attempt to avoid is penetrating our consciousness itself.

it is obvious that the Shakespeare’s characters are ethical beings by their ethical properties, virtues, sins, and their tendency towards goodness or evil.

they leave ethical impressions to audience.

his plays are called tragedy because they end with deaths.

the death of the hero is the tragic event.

it is called the tragic death.
