The study aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the self-questioning strategy in developing contemplative thinking among students of the Art Education Department with the subject of the history of modern art, as the researcher in the first chapter dealt with the research problem, its importance and the goal of his research, while the second chapter consists of two topics, the first deals with the strategy of self-inquiry and reflective thinking, As for the second topic, it dealt with the history of modern art, and the third chapter contained the research procedures in which the researcher followed the experimental approach of two groups (experimental and control) as the research community consisted of students of the Art Education Department in the College of Basic Education - the first stage - the morning study, and to achieve the goal of the research, he conducted The researcher determines the subject of the history of modern art according to its chronology (impressionism - al-hushbah - expressionism - cubism - abstract - futurism - Dada - surrealism) and determining contemplative thinking in terms of (its concept - its importance - its characteristics - its types).
The researcher used one measurement tool (the achievement test) to measure the development and achievement of the students of the two research groups (experimental and control) and this test was characterized by validity and stability, as the researcher used the statistical bag (SPSS) as the most appropriate for the current study, as it showed the superiority of the experimental group who studied according to the self-inquiry strategy over Control group students who studied in the usual way.
