Abstract EN

The The main objective of the study was to determine the influence type and degree of some factors (social support, supportive organizational culture, supervisorsubordinate exchange, job autonomy) on the perception of work-life balance for the nurses working at Cairo University hospitals.

To achieve this goal, four hypotheses were developed in light of the related literature.

The study was applied to a sample of (304) female nurses.

The Pearson correlation coefficient method and the path analysis method were applied to analyze the results of the study.

The study concluded that there is a significant positive correlation between social support, supportive organizational culture and supervisor-subordinate exchange on one hand, and the work-life balance on the other hand, fully and partially.

The results indicated that there is a positive significant correlation between job autonomy and time balance, while there is no significant correlation between the variable of job autonomy and the variables of participation balance and satisfaction balance.

The results also indicated a positive significant effect of social support, the supervisor’s relationship with the subordinates, and the supportive organizational culture on work-life balance.

However, the results showed that there is a significant positive effect of job autonomy on time balance, while no significant effect was found for the variable of job autonomy.

In light of these results, some recommendations were presented, which the researchers hope would contribute to achieving work-life balance for working women through applying them to the nurses working at Cairo University hospitals.
