Abstract EN

This study sought to reveal the prevalence of mental disorders during the corona virus' pandemic and its relationship with psychological resilience among university students in northwestern Syria.

to achieve this, Middlesex hospital questionnaire by Sidney crawn & crispy 1970 and the measure of psychological resilience developed by the researcher, were applied to a sample of 228 (158 males and 70 females) students from al-sham international university and the international university of science and renaissance.

the results showed that mental illness is 36.7% prevalent among university students.

more specifically, obsessive-compulsive disorder was regarded as one of the most common disorders, reaching 63.8%, followed by depression by 43.7%, hysteria by 41.9%, anxiety at 36.7%, the phobia by 27.9% and physical anxiety increased by 17.5%.

the study also concluded that mental health does not differ according to gender or the type of housing.

that is, females are more psychologically resilient than males.

it was also concluded that those with a low level of psychological resilience suffer from fear, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, physical anxiety, hysteria, and but not depression.

in addition, there was a negative correlation between mental health and psychological resilience.
