Abstract EN

This research addresses the most prominent issues about which the Companions, “may God be pleased with them all”, differed in the era of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, due to the trials and tribulations that the era witnessed.

I chose the topic because I noticed through my reading of the writings of Orientalists about this era in particular and the history of Islam in general, a deliberate prejudice of the majority of Orientalists towards Islam, the Prophet and the Companions.

The importance of the research is that orientalists, with the exception of a few of them, focused in their writings on demolishing the foundation upon which Islam was built by focusing, after the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him), on the honorable companions, who the pillars of the Islamic call and spreading Islam, especially the Rightly Guided Caliphs and the wives of the Prophet “may God be pleased with them”.

The main objective is to shed light on what I mentioned.

The Study method is clarification, discussion, analysis, conclusion, induction and constructive criticism, based on what the available sources and references.

The research began with the definition of Orientalism, its concept and objectives, the Companions and their virtues, sedition and the attitudes of the Companions towards it, and the attitudes of Orientalists towards the Companions, in addition to mentioning some of what some of them wrote as models and examples.

The Study concluded that orientalists based their attitudes towards the Companions on the turbulent, contradictory and weak narrations that were mentioned in some books of Muslim historians, and that they took from these narrations an approach to defaming the Companions, defaming them and questioning their Islam.

They also deliberately spread false news about the honorable Companions to weaken the spiritual connection of Muslims with them.

They also aimed to portray the Companions as instigators of sedition, who were indifferent to what would result from it.

The research concludcd with a conclusion, results, recommendations, and a liSt of sources and references.
