This topic Studies Berenice Port its foundation, itsinhabitants and its trade activities, which linked the Red sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
Berenice trade activities flourished during the Roman era, it introduced Indian Ocean and Sub-Saharan African commodities to the Mediterranean basin.
It became an international port and attracter many people from the ancient world and formed an international community as seen in its ruins.
Greek and Roman sources wrote about its inhabitants and the inhabitants along the coast of the Rad Sea and the interior areas, their Kingdoms, trade activities and their relations with Romans, Byzantines and Meroe kingdom.
