Abstract EN

This study aims to shed light on Britani’s policy towards Mahdism in the Eastern Sudan.

the significance of the study emerges from the fact that Britain embarks on a double standard policy toward Mahdism in general .it importance lies in the fail that it explores Britain endeavors to destroy Mahdism by the force of arms .the study adapts historical analytical approach to obtain sound findings.

chief among these findings was that Mahdism victories in the eastern Sudan threatens Britain’s interest’s in the red sea and Britain’s interference led to the decline of Mahdism in that part of Sudan.

the study recommends further studies about Brittan’s policy towards Mahdism and its relation with religious and tribal in stations in the eastern Sudan.
