Abstract EN

This research is concerned with the analysis of some of the poetic evidence of Baha Zuhair (d.

656 AH) - one of the poets whose poetry was characterized by a sweet wording and a pleasant familiar meaning- According to Searle's deliberative view of the speech act theory.

The study focused on the places in which the news or declarative acts were embodied, in which the direction of appropriateness from speech to the outside world.

The research consisted of two sections: the first section was concerned with the theoretical study by clarifying the theoretical concept of the verbal act of Austin and Searle, as well as clarifying the concept of news speech acts.

As for the second topic: (applied study), it specializes in analyzing samples of Al-Baha Zuhair’s poetry in the light of the data of Searle’s verbal verb theory, and studying those verbs a pragmatic study that shows their literal (direct) and figurative (indirect) achievement capabilities, in the intended use, and their intended use.

Then came the conclusion of the research, which included the most important results reached by the research.
